COMEDY IS NOT A CRIME
One Night Only! July 2nd 2011 ASOC Playhouse 7:30pm

For ONE NIGHT ONLY (18 and older please) the ASOC Production Committee will host a night of Stand-Up Comedy and Olios with Seaside funny man Dave Berquist on Saturday July 2nd at 7:30pm at the ASOC Playhouse, 129 West Bond Street, Uniontown, Astoria. This event is a fundraiser for the new ASOC Teen Summer Workshop Program. Tickets are only $6 per person or $10 per couple and can be purchased at the door that night beginning at 6:30pm with the doors opening at 7:00pm.
Who is Dave Bergquist? Funny man Dave Bergquist is one goofy guy! Originally from Naselle, Washington, Dave now resides in Astoria, where he currently owns and operates the Trophy Case in Gearhart. After retiring from a long law enforcement career and a daunting long career as a US Army Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, he needed to find something that did not require guns, hand cuffs or his hand to hand skills. This created his inspiration for his now 15 years of comedy around the Pacific Northwest. Over the past years Dave has been averaging a show every couple weeks, often more than that, once a community hears his jokes and experiences his ability to take real life situation and turn them into a gut rolling atmosphere of laugher and happy tears. He has performed in bars, clubs, dinner shows and many private events. Along with many other accolades, he is a father of a teenage son and while raising a teenager is no laughing matter, it is often something to laugh about!
And just to keep the laughter growing, Dave has agreed to teach the first in a new series of ASOC TEEN SUMMER WORKSHOPS for ages 13 to 18. This 15 hour, 3-day workshop takes place 7/24-7/26, and ends with a free final performance showcase by the students featuring their new found talents on Sunday July 31st. Workshop fees are just $20, with a limited number of scholarships available for low income participants.
